For the love of words... Words of Heart is a small, New Zealand home-based business, creating handmade art blocks for all occasions. Based on the beautiful Hibiscus Coast, just north of Auckland, if I'm not walking my dogs, making blocks, or cooking up a storm in the kitchen, I can often be found selling my blocks at the local markets.
With a passion for poems and stories, I am a strong believer in the power of words to evoke memories and emotions. Words can take us back to a particular place or a moment in time, or make us think of loved family members, friends, or pets.
I design and make every block by hand, combining words & images (photos or illustrations) in my designs. The words may include quotes, sayings, poems, lyrics, etc. My designs encompass various themes - life, love, friendship, pets, places, etc. The blocks make great gifts for any occasion, or a treat for yourself, and they brighten up any wall, shelf, windowsill, or desk. I have many designs available and I am always adding more!
Standard blocks measure 10x15cm, with either a 6mm 'skinny' base (with rear hanger or magnets) or a freestanding 18mm 'chunky' base. Bases may be black or white.
A larger, (approx 13x18cm) base block is available in the 6mm or 18mm thicknesses, especially for some custom orders. You will find this option in some of the drop down menus for the custom block listings.
All of my handmade blocks are 'sealed' right across the design face, edges and corners. This means that the design will not lift or peel off, and also the entire design face has a wipeable finish, so fly dirt, dust, fingerprints, etc., can be removed by gently wiping with a slightly damp cloth.
I love to customise designs for weddings, anniversaries, births, milestone birthdays, pets, pet memorials, bereavement gifts, etc., the options are endless!
